Act of Memory / Acto de Memoria
1st International Search Brigade
Call to action / The call
Tuesday / Tuesday, October 26th
6 pm Pacific Time - 8 pm CDMX time
Act of Memory / Acto de Memoria, brings to mind the immense escalation of missing people in Mexico and the struggles of thousands of families to find their loved ones. It is a series of virtual talks and public actions with family collectives looking for their relatives who disappeared in the migratory transit between the border of Mexico and the United States.
The focus of this series is a collaboration with the first International Search Brigade, made up of collectives from Baja California including Armadillos: Ni un Inmigrante Menos, Buscadoras de la Paz, Madres Unidas y Fuertes, Siguiendo tus pasos, Armadillos México, Una nación buscando T, and Familias Recuperando Tesoros.
These collectives join forces with the families of migrants who disappeared in the space of a migratory transit. Until we find them, because (we are none but we are everybody, opening borders) #NoSomosNadiePeroSomosTodos #AbriendoFronteras
FIRST INTERNATIONAL SEARCH BRIGADE
We invite you to attend the meeting via Zoom that will take place this Tuesday, October 26 at 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time (20hrs. CDMX). The reason is to personally invite you to the 1st International Search Brigade happening in Baja California and Sonora border from February 18 to March 4, 2022.
These collectives have already carried out three State Brigades in Baja California (and another one is about to start in Sonora next November. With the help of allied institutions and supportive people, we find a deep solidarity with people from different parts of the world with high migratory traffic. That is the reason, we have involved more participants and decided to promote a larger brigade whose main focus is to search for migrants who pass through this territory.
We will carry out a search in life and a search in the field, and we hope that with your support and the articulated effort of the collectives and volunteers that we will help more family members to find each other again and to end the search process for their relatives.
We ask for your help because we know that the only way we can advance and promote this brigade is by walking together. Please send an email at the address below to receive the Zoom Meeting link. Follow us on social media and please help us to share our work.
In Solidarity.
