Insight-out: Guiding Rage into Power
Thinking about race, violence, prison... Last week I went to a meditation retreat led by Jacques Verduin and 10 men who had each spent many decades serving time in San Quentin State Prison. I learned a lot from all these men who are working to
- increase emotional intelligence
- de-escalate violence of all kinds (physical, energetic, emotional, economic, sexual, spiritual)
- cultivate mindfulness
- understand victimization
